I’m looking into responses for ones that are ‘on-call’ on weekends/holidays and how their communities deal with pay? Do you get a set amount of hours if you are called in or just get to clock in when you are there at the facility. We have an indoor pool and we have two staff that only get paid for the time they are there. We are trying to get this changed as the same as our utility staff for Tipton do but need to gather some information. If you could help and let me know how other communities are dealing with this that would be great. Thanks!

Our maintenance staff get paid 2/5 hrs for call outs even if it only takes them an hour to get their job done. Makes it worth their time to go out on a weekend or evening/after hours to fix or check on something.

We do an on-call for our seasonal rec staff positions, mainly for basketball. We schedule 2 people as on call for our weekend games. They are required to be near their phones from 800am-815am and again from 1115am-1215pm. If they are called in to cover, they get their full shift game pay, if they don’t hear from us, they get 2 hours of game pay for being available. Staff enjoy it because they may not get any communication and get a “free” 2 hours. They can plan the rest of their day by noon.
