25 cent raise per season worked. Lifeguard recertification’s covered. Class paid for if you return for a 2nd season.
We got wages increased to this in November. Prior to this increase, we struggled to be fully staffed come Pool season in May. As of January 31st, I am fully staffed and only have room for 3-4 more people to apply!

A lot of my guards leave for college in the middle of August… I was thinking maybe setting something like that up for around homecoming time?
I talked with the West Union Police Chief and, in this area, it is up to the Parole Office to set the guidelines for what the person can and cannot do. They know the history for the sex offender and if he follows guidelines. Here, they are not allowed in our parks (ball games) or at the aquatic center. Personally, I would not want to be responsible for saying a registered sex offender can or cannot attend his child’s game. In my opinion, the risk is too great to deal with.

We have an ice rink in our city park. It is used at their own risk. It is not fenced in. I do not supervise it. People in the community and surrounding area absolutely love it. They are a lot of work when it snows so be ready for pushing a lot of snow. Ours is 80 x 120. We do not rent skates either. I decided I didn’t want to be on call 24/7 to rent out skates and keep them sharpened. Let me know if you have any other questions.
