good morning! I know the topic of recruitment, reimbursement and incentives have been discussed often. I am working on some options now to offer reduced prices for certifications. I appreciate any feedback of what worked with your city, how you reimbursed/ how to ensure they will work for you.
    many thanks!! janna

    Good Morning Jenna,
We pay for 1/2 of training if they work for us, and if they work (xx) amount of hours, we give them Lake Mills Bucks to spend in the community until their training is paid in full. We also purchase clothing for up to $85.00 for each employee.
    Thanks,
    Amy

In North Liberty we used to do if you take the lifeguard class through us and work X amount of hours between Memorial day and Labor day you’re reimbursed for the cost of the lifeguard class. This worked well and I never had any trouble getting lifeguards. With covid this past spring we hired our lifeguards and then certified them in house at no cost to them. We will probably continue hiring and certifying in house at no cost moving forward.
